We send more text messages to each other every day by phone than there are people on earth.     The average time spent on a web page is 56 seconds.     At least one blog is launched every second of every day.     There are 4 billion mobile phone on earth.     Your website has just 1.8 seconds to catch people's attention.     Amazon makes more money on cloud computing and storage than it does selling books.     In Tokyo, you can order a customised Toyota on Monday, and drive it home on Friday.     

Mexico and the future of ideas


I spent last week in the USA and Mexico, where I was privileged to help facilitate a meeting with leaders and key business partners in the skills and certification arena. What a powerful session - I was impressed by the content and scale of ideas being put forward to help engage more people in assessment and certification around the world.
The attendees were people who know how to influence change, so my thanks to Clarke Porter, assessment genius and founder of Integral7; Mark Miller, CEO of New Horizons; Suzana Lopes and Bill West from Pearson VUE; Ray Kelly, Senior VP at Prometric, and the CompTIA directors from the regional offices of Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the US. I applaud your contribution.
